Photocroquis : the full story

And here we are.

Let’s grab some popcorn...

It all began a few years ago, while I was reviewing the prints from a photo shoot I had done for one of my clients. With a black ink pen in hand, I started making small adjustments on the image, sketching over it what I had in mind, as if drawing a croquis of ideas for a future studio session.

That’s when I discovered that beyond a simple sketch, the image itself, born from the fusion of two distinct techniques layered together, offered a unique aesthetic experience. It created a dimension that was both fantastical and subversive.

And let’s not forget what a croquis is meant to be: the first physical manifestation of an idea, something that escapes the mind of its creator and takes form through lines, scribbles, shapes, and textures. It speaks of dreams and materials, the outline of an object or concept, before it exists in the real world.

Here, the process is reversed.

MY ARCHAEOLOGICAL GALLERY

In Photocroquis, each creation begins with a studio photo session where I capture the essence of each person. Once the image is developed and printed, a meticulous process of transformation begins.

Using pencils, ink pens, and other artistic tools, I draw directly onto the printed photograph, adding details and textures that transform and enrich the image, always guided by the chosen theme and the sensibility of each person, you for example. The illustration becomes the final expression of your dream. At the end you get a materialized concept of yourself, a unique, sensitive, and beautiful portrait.

That’s why, in this singular and transgressive experience, you can become anything you wish to be: a Renaissance queen from another planet, a fashion samurai, a postmodern Viking warrior, a spectacular merman… or a hybrid creature shaped by the nature of your own desires.

What would you wish to become?
